Launched in 1999 humanfish.com is now a well established specialist company for trekking, hiking, skiing and summer / winter activities. Based in Bled during the summer we provide complete walking, hiking trekking or activities holidays staying in various accommodations around Bled, Kranjska Gora and Bohinj. In Bled we have a stand on the main promenade area offering advice on local walks, have a large selection of maps and hiking routes with details of our summer program & activities available which include cultural hikes, valley walks, horse riding, paragliding, via ferrata, 3 - 7 day treks and the ultimate 2 day Mt Triglav. |
The winter sees humanfish move its base to Kranjska Gora - Ski School Koren - providing a specialist ski school based in the hotel Kompas as well as an array of winter activities. Our ski school has also obtained a good reputation and we now work with companies from England, Ireland, Holland and Croatia providing school programs and family holidays.
Humanfish.com has a professional team of guides of Alpine Association of Slovenia and ski instructors and we are proud of our team with there enthusiasm for Slovenia and the outdoors.

Koren Sports, originally Andraz and Matija, was started 4 years previously. An internal company working with the Slovenian Tourist Association in providing mountain activities. Working also with local schools on various educational and environmental courses.
In 1999 humanfish.com, a sister company of Koren Sports was started, bringing a new angle and division to Koren Sports. A European program was established and our web-site was officially launched online.

It is often asked why the name humanfish? There is no technical reason behind the name, true it does not directly relate to trekking and hiking but it does to Slovenia. After months of discussion over a web-site name we had pretty much exhausted the list, none we really warmed to. We were looking at a Slovene paper that was featuring a story about the Cloveska Ribica in the Postojna Caves. A reptile creature, 4 fingers, 3 toes, no eyes and transparent and has the same skin makeup as humans. |

Humanfish.com goes into 2005 with an established reputation and image. Our team of guides and instructors has grown to 35 and we are always looking to continue to introduce new trails and activities. |

Matija Koren - Company Director: is a lover of the outdoors, especially mountain biking, windsurfing and skiing. An experienced mountain biking guide - having covering many of Europe's great cycle trails and explored and lead extensively in Slovenia. Matija is a member of the Slovenian Ski Demo Team, which actively teaches ski instructors and performing demonstrations around the glode. Having skied many back country trails in Slovenia included Triglav he also accompanied Davo Kanicar (first man to ski down all of Everest) for a descent on skis of Mont Blanc. His excellent ski teaching qualifications and mountain biking skills teamed with his outgoing personality, is a perfect combination. Matija deals mainly with our incentive, high ropes program and the ski school. |
| Andraz Koren - Trekking and Hiking Organiser: is an active member of the Slovene Mountaineering Association, having obtained the highest level for mountain guiding in the Slovenian Alps, Andraz has lead many treks into the heart of the Slovene Mountains in either Slovene, English and German language. A keen and active climber, Andraz is an expert for the Slovenian Mountains and has climbed many north - face routes including Triglav's as well as high peaks in the Himalayas and Europe. His warm and friendly personality is as natural as his love of walking. |

Stewart James - humanfish.com programs & marketing: with his love of Slovenia and its mountain's means he has built up an excellent reputation in Lake Bled and Kransjka Gora. The continual update and layout of the web-site is planned by Stewart along with his extensive research into the Eco-friendly approach of our company. Tilen - Guide - Alpine Association of Slovenia: a natural in all aspects, a true man of the mountains. Tomaz - Guide Alpine Association of Slovenia: one of the most highly qualified guides for the Karavanke Mountains and winter ski touring. Tomaz is a member of our mountain team, guiding in either Slovene, English or German. However Tomaz is now more heavily invloved in the Adrenaline Park and High Ropes Course and spends most of his time there with Matija helping organise and promote not only in Slovenia but neighbouring countries. Tomaz has extensive knowledge about the weather and conditions in the mountains and is a regular on planning routes in the mountains for different weather conditions and seasons. |
