THE KARAVANKE AND CASTLE KAMEN |

Starting from Ljubelj we stand at the base of one of the most contoured mountains in the Karavanke Range, Begunjscica. On wild mountain trails we make our way around the outside of the mountain offering us wonderful views into the valley of St Ana. Passing fossils and alpine flowers native only to this area we approach Roblekov Hut through the mysterious Barons Tunnels. Spanning 150m these tunnels take us from the north to the south side of the mountain were we are rewarded with a stunning view of the surrounding valley and Alps, with towns and villages below. |
| Making our way down to the valley, through unmarked and wild mountain trails, we visit Grad Kamen / Castle rock, nestled at the foothold of the Karavanke Mountains giving us a medieval insight into what life was like below the majestic Karavanke Mountains centuries ago. |
