The Ljubelj Pass
Slovenia’s oldest pass and alpine flowers

With over 350 years of history our easy, historical walk takes us to the oldest pass in Europe, straddling Slovenia and neighbouring Austria. Our route takes us from the deep valley of Ljubelj through an area rich in wild flowers to our point at 1330m and the old checkpoint. After local schnapps and home-made tea we head down to the valley and through mountain pastures with time to visit the old POW camp Ljubelj - Mauthausen. A truly historical walk.
