Hemingway’s Historical Trails and Magical Lake Bohinj
A non-technical ridge walk considered the best in Slovenia
Magical Lake Bohinj and its surrounding mountains is the route for our Hemingway’s Trials, regarded as the most amazing ridge walk in the country. Not technically difficult the ridge surrounding Slovenia’s largest glacier lake offers spectacular walking with views stretching from the Julian Alps to the Slovenian coast. Made famous by Hemingway’s “Farewell to Arms” this historical area is a world away from other routes and takes you deep into history looking out over lands where soldiers fought in WW1.
We completely circle the lake and our five day trek offers accommodation little used by other companies, ensuring that we not only enjoy the trails but also the tranquillity of the national park.
This is a fantastic non-technical ridge walk on wide trails circling Lake Bohinj. This trek is suitable for anyone who has a good level of fitness and enjoys been away from the trekking crowds!
